Members of Greater Van Nuys Rotary is happy to welcome Carolyn Urquidez as our Club President for 2023/2024 Rotary Year.
 
 
Carolyn is the Co-Founder and Vice President, Kidneys Quest Foundation since June 2006 to present. The KQF is a 501(c) nonprofit, administrating and managing KQF, an outreach and educational organization dedicated to helping families and individuals with kidney disorders, renal patients and those in need of kidney transplants.
 
KQF also helps in Supporting, educating and directing kidney patients on next steps they can take after being diagnosed with a kidney disorder, options for dialysis support and education on dialysis.  Introducing and educating, potential candidates on options for dialysis at home and how they can gain time for employment and activities.  Preparing renal patients to become active and stay active as potential recipients on Kidney Transplant Lists.  Teaching nutrition for renal diets and how renal patients can eat healthy and with enjoyment, including menus that are available, meal preparation, how to exercise or stay physically and mentally active, and be involved in hobbies as a renal patient.
 
 
Running monthly support group meetings for kidney patients, outreach events, health fairs, education and patient support.  Directing, organizing and implementing events every year, including overseeing volunteers, participants, finding sponsors, and coordinators, plus fundraising activities and coordinating grant application efforts.
 
Carolyn L Urquidez joined Greater Van Nuys Rotary a few years ago and was a very active member.  According to Carolyn, she is happy to take over the leadership of GVN Rotary and looking forward to moving the club to the next level.
 
Her Goals for the year includes:
*Building membership.
*Strengthening the Foundation of our Club together.
*Collaboration with other clubs.
